Chicago Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson is headed to the injured list with a Grade 2 left oblique strain and is expected to miss four to six weeks. Swanson exited Sunday’s 11-4 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals in the third inning after an awkward swing, an injury initially described as left side discomfort before manager Craig Counsell confirmed postgame it was an oblique issue. The normal timetable would have him back in time for the postseason, which begins Sept. 29. Nico Hoerner shifts from second base to shortstop in his absence. (source: ESPN, MLB.com, Yahoo Sports)
