The Commanders have their answer on Johnny Newton, and it’s not a good one. The 23-year-old defensive tackle underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a torn pectoral muscle after traveling to New York to see a specialist, and Washington expects him to miss significant time. Newton, the 36th overall pick in 2024, tore it in the preseason opener against Miami. DFS note: that thins out an already banged-up Washington front behind Daron Payne and Javon Kinlaw, which nudges opposing RB and interior run-game props in the right direction early in the season.
