Sam LaPorta did not practice again Thursday. The Lions tight end took a hit to the hip earlier this week and Dan Campbell says the team will rest him until things calm down, stopping short of committing him to the Week 1 opener against the Saints on Sept. 13. Campbell does not believe it is serious, but Detroit is not rushing a player who had disk surgery last November. DFS angle: if LaPorta misses time, Jared Goff’s red-zone and seam targets have to go somewhere, and Detroit’s TE2 plus the slot become live low-cost punt plays in Week 1 lineups. Track Friday’s practice report before locking anything in. (source: Detroit News, CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated, TSN)
