Carlos Rodon made his first major league start since June 28, returning from the injured list after nearly two months out with left elbow inflammation. The Yankees left-hander worked four innings and allowed Coby Mayo’s 17th home run. Trent Grisham supplied the offense with his 17th homer in the third inning and a two-run single in the seventh, and Yerry De los Santos (1-0) threw two scoreless innings of relief as New York beat Baltimore 3-1. The Yankees moved to 70-55 and opened the series holding the top American League wild-card spot. The win came the same day New York placed Max Fried back on the injured list with a left elbow bone bruise. (source: ESPN, Field Level Media, NBC Sports)
