San Francisco turned the lights out at SoFi. The 49ers led the Chargers 20-3 at the half and pushed it to 34-9 in the fourth, with a Jacob Cowing punt-return touchdown flipping the first half and Adrian Martinez adding a 9-yard rushing score plus a 17-yard TD pass to Jordan Watkins. Nick Martin forced a fumble on a kick return that KhaDarel Hodge recovered deep in Chargers territory, and the 49ers offense piled up 208 yards on 20 first-half plays. DFS read: this is the preseason blueprint — the points came from backups and special teams, not from the starters who take 12 snaps and grab a clipboard. Cowing and Watkins are the roster-bubble names worth rostering while the field pays up for names. (source: FOX Sports, ESPN box score, Yahoo Sports and AOL live updates, Niners Nation)
